Homeschool Programs

Groups of homeschooled children can experience interactive learning first-hand with our educational programming, guided by the Ohio Academic Content Standards.

Homeschool Workshops 2015

On the first Tuesday or Thursday in March, May, and October, children ages 3-15 are invited to participate in this series of engaging, age-appropriate science workshops designed just for homeschool students. These workshops explore physics, biology, and chemistry and run from 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

Physics: March 3 or 5
Explore the scientific method and learn the exciting physics and math of bubbles.

Ages 3 – 5: Fizz, Pop, Wow
Ages 6 – 9: Bubbleology
Ages 10 – 15: Liquid Geometry

Biology: May 5 or May 7
Get your hands wet as you explore the world of aquatic biology at the Museum's pond.

Ages 3 – 5: Gone Crayfishin'
Ages 6 – 9: Pond Study I
Ages 10 – 15: Pond Study II

Chemistry: October 6 – 8
Colorful concoctions and extreme temperatures will end the series with a bang!

Fees, Admission to the Museum, and Forms

Fees:
Per Session: $10/student/session for non-members, $8/student/session for members.

Per Year: $25/student/year for non-members, $20/student/year for members.

If you are not currently a Dayton Society of Natural History Member, you can learn more about becoming one here.

A sibling discount of $1 can be applied per child.

Admission to the Museum: Each program fee includes admission for the child attending the program and one adult chaperone. Additional Museum tickets can be purchased at a discounted rate though the Education Administration Desk upon check in.

Forms: For the safety of your child, all participants will be required to complete an emergency contact and medical form for each student. For more information, or to register over the phone call (937) 275 – 7431 x 116.


Please arrive in the Education Center 15 minutes prior to class for check-in and to complete emergency forms.

Attention Homeschool Groups!

Are you part of a homeschool consortium or other large homeschool group? Groups of 10 or more homeschool children can select from any of our educational program offerings at our group rates.
