Common Membership Questions
Q. I've lost/laundered my membership card. What should I do?

or call at 937-275-7431 ext. 152 to request a new card(s). Because we have moved from paper cards to reuseable PVC cards in an effort to be more "Green", we will now be charging $5.00/replacement card due to the increase in materials and postage.
Q: Will I be receiving a new PVC card every year when I renew my Membership?
A: Because the Dayton Society of Natural History strives to be good stewards of the environment, being "Green" certified is something we take very seriously. We are inviting our Members to help us save some trees with NEW PVC Membership cards! Not only are these cards more durable than paper, our Members will be able to reuse them from year to year. Much like your car registration, a new sticker will be sent to you once you renew your Membership and you can simply place it on your existing card. Thank you for helping us reduce and reuse by making this change, we certainly appreciate it!
Q. How long does it take to get a permanent membership card?
A. We strive to mail out all permanent membership cards within 10-15 business days, but due to higher volumes at different peak times, it can take longer. While you are waiting, simply use your temporary card or the E-mail confirmation from your on-line purchase…they do everything your permanent card does with proper photo ID.
Q. How long does my membership last?
A. Memberships are good for one full year from date of purchase; they are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Q. Can I loan my membership card to a friend or other family member?
A. Membership is limited to the two adults named on the card, and up to 6 of their children/grandchildren under 18 (depended on the Membership level). Other individuals would not be able to use the membership. Membership cards are not transferable; membership cards can only be used by the adults listed on the card with proper photo ID. However, if you have another familial adult that frequently brings your children/grandchildren to the Boonshoft Museum, SunWatch Indian Village/Archaeological Park, and Fort Ancient, and the Boonshoft Museum of Discovery Springfield you may “add on” their name for an additional $30. A maximum of 2 “add on” names are permitted per membership for an additional $60.
Q. Can my spouse or partner bring my kids to SunWatch, Boonshoft Museum, and Fort Ancient?
A. All of our membership cards are imprinted with the names of up to two adults who are living in the same household. We encourage all parents and other adults raising children to share the experience. If your spouse or partner's name is not listed on your card, please let us know so that we can add them as an additional "Add-On" or include them as one of the named adults on your Membership card when filling out your Membership information, provided you are in the same household.
