Ignite Innovation

The 2015 Dayton Regional Science Festival is from Friday, November 6 - Saturday, November 7!

START TALKING

What is the Dayton Regional Science Festival?
The Dayton Regional Science Festival is a community-wide celebration of all things science! Whether you are a single adult or a parent looking for something for the whole family, there are nearly a dozen events and activities planned.

START PLANNING

I've never been to a science festival before? How does it work?
The Dayton region has a strong history of innovation, leading the way in education reform and forging connections to fill the tech-focused jobs of the future. The Dayton Regional Science Festival brings together educational institutions, non-profits, and businesses to offer a series of events and programs that shine a light on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math.

From October 23-26, the festival will take place at various times and locations across the Miami Valley to offer the chance to dig in and discover some of the amazing people, places, and projects happening in our backyard.

Is there anything for teens to do at this year's festival? What about my seven year old?
Whether you are 5 or 95, October 23-26 has something to offer!  From an open house at the Dayton Regional STEM School, where families can see what a science-focused education can offer, to the family-friendly Chaminade Julienne Catholic Highschool STEM Expo or the Career-focused Field Trips for young explorers at the Boonshoft Museum, there is something for everyone.

START THINKING

Why is a Science Festival important for our community?
The Dayton Region has been a leader in launching education reform and forging career connections needed to fill future job pipelines. In addition, the region has a strong history of innovation, and blending people, organizations and institutions for the greater good. More than just a “party” (although certain to be fun), The Dayton Regional Science Festival will offer avenues for the entire community to begin understanding the amazing opportunities that exist to spark STEM creativity. The Dayton Regional Science Festival will highlight the people, places and projects that are shaping our local science, technology, engineering and mathematics culture.

START LEARNING

When can we start learning?
The Dayton Regional Science Festival is only one of several focused collections of STEM learning events— there are many that occur all year long. TechFest, the Vectren Dayton Air Show, Pub Science and Air Camp, among others, as well as everyday experiences at Carillon Historical Park, Cox Arboretum MetroPark, SunWatch Indian Village, and dozens of other area attractions provide creative learning opportunities. The point is to start igniting your imagination. No matter your age, interest or understanding, by exploring the innovative spirit that surrounds us, we can become a smarter community of creative problem solvers. It is never too late, and certainly never too early, to start learning.
