Exhibits-To-Go Programming

Kindergarten

Kindergarten is a special time for early learners filled with new scholastic experiences, from the structure of a daily routine to exploring a new subject matter. Kindergarten is also a crucial time for early learners to explore hands-on opportunities and develop problem solving skills that will assist them throughout their academic career.

The following Exhibits-To-Go programs were developed to present science related subject matter in such a way that early learners can make new discoveries through hands on interaction and are able to interaction and question Museum professionals.

Health

Hop, Wiggle & Roll
Students will see how to brighten their day with colorful foods and fun loving exercise. With direction from the Children's Medical Center, this class will help students learn to make healthy choices for a healthy body.

Wise About Eyes
Children will learn what they can do to keep their eyes healthy and safe as they explore their eyes and the precious gift of sight. This program demonstrates how eyes work and shows how to protect and care for them. "Eye-Popping" demonstrations and hands-on activities will provide the student with deeper insight into the world of vision and how to play safely.

Physical Science

Attraction Action
Students will investigate the phenomenon of magnetism. Hands-on experimentation will help students understand how magnets both repel and attract. Students will also use magnets to sort objects based upon physical properties such as color and shape.

All Hands on Science
Explore solids, liquids and gases when students get both hands into many different science experiments.

Technology & Math

Science Tools and Measurement
Is a hammer the right tool to use to eat spaghetti? Is it a mile to the kitchen from your bedroom? Children want to know more about the world and be able to share what they have learned in ways others can understand. In this workshop students will learn that measurement units help us to talk about what we know and that the right tools to help us to do a job well and safely. Professional educators will lead hands-on experiments that allows students to do scientific tasks with the proper tools and to measure with unites that help tot answers others will understand.
